Who this is for
PalliMate is for anyone looking for better understanding and support during a difficult medical experience.
You’re tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix. You’ve been told things you don’t fully understand and weren’t given time to clarify. You leave appointments with more questions than answers. You think about what’s next more than you let on. Some days you’re so overwhelmed you don’t know where to begin.
You’re trying to track everything. The appointments, the medications, the things not being talked about. In limited spare time you search for insights but rarely find answers. You worry about doing too much and not enough at the same time. You feel guilty but don’t know why. And no one really asks how you’re doing.
Having someone who knows what you’re up against and is firmly on your side isn’t too much to ask.
Why PalliMate Exists
When you’re facing a serious diagnosis, things speed up and stop at the same time. Appointments, specialists, tests, and decisions come fast, even as you feel paralyzed and little makes sense.
Everyone has a job to do, and they do it well. But whose job is it to slow down, answer your questions, and help you understand what it all means for your life?
For most people, that person doesn’t exist. It isn’t a failure of your doctors. It’s a gap the system was never built to fill, and it’s why so many people, surrounded by good medical care, still feel lost.
That gap is why PalliMate exists.
What is PalliMate
PalliMate is a private medical practice built by Dr. James Meadows, a physician whose career has been focused on caring for people facing serious illness.
It’s built around the three things he’s repeatedly seen patients lacking — time, consistency, and clarity. Today’s healthcare isn’t built to provide these.
PalliMate is.
That means focused attention from a physician who knows your situation, continuous access as things change, and honest answers in plain language.
All PalliMate services are provided wherever you are, through video, phone, and secure message. No office visits. No waiting rooms.
People come to PalliMate when
They’ve gotten a diagnosis they don’t fully understand.
Dr. Meadows explains what it actually means for you, with time to ask anything.
They’re facing a treatment decision with hard trade-offs.
He walks through the options clearly, so the choice in front of you feels less impossible to make.
They’re overwhelmed by symptoms and confused by their medications.
He helps you understand why you feel the way you do, and what you’re actually being asked to take.
They’re hearing different things from different doctors.
He helps it all fit together, so you can see the whole picture instead of scattered pieces.
They want to make the most of an upcoming appointment.
He helps you prepare, so you walk in knowing what to ask, what to expect, and what to listen for.

L.W. · Patient
“I learned more in this one call than I have in the 5 years since my husband was diagnosed with dementia.”

Common Questions
If you need additional answers, the FAQ page covers more topics in detail.
Your doctors are focused on diagnosing and treating your condition, and they’re very good at that. What they rarely have time for is sitting with you, explaining what it all means in plain language, and helping you think through the decisions in front of you. That’s what PalliMate provides. It isn’t a replacement for your doctors. It’s the support that makes your relationship with them more productive.
Insurance is built to cover treatments, procedures, and clinical tasks. It was never designed to reimburse time, conversation, or the kind of thoughtful guidance that helps you understand what you’re facing. Most navigation services that do exist are tied to specific disease programs or cost-containment goals. PalliMate has none of those constraints, which means Dr. Meadows can focus on one thing: how supported and informed you feel.
Yes. All meetings and communication happen through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, and your medical information is held to the same privacy standards that apply in any other physician-patient relationship.
No. There’s no obligation to purchase or continue. Many people find that a single consultation gives them the clarity they were looking for. Others choose to stay connected as their situation evolves. Either way, the decision is entirely yours.
